Winnie Upside down

Stitch-less and fancy free!
Winnie Winchester had her stitches removed on Saturday morning and she behaved perfectly. She growled at a big labrador in the waiting room, which was very brave of her even if she was on my lap, in her cage, at the time.

Tell me we don't have to go again... Ever! )

Photos, photos, photos... )

Winnie's Grand Adventure or Oh! Noes!
Winnie still hasn't been outside a great deal. In fact, it's probably been about a month since she was last outside. I keep making excuses: She's too little, she hasn't been fixed and there are tom cats around (can't use that excuse any more), she won't find her way home, she's not afraid of anything so how will she know to avoid cars and dogs... My list goes on.

This morning Winnie either decided to take things into her own hands or fate gave her a helping hand...

Where's Winnie? )

Of course, after a little while they stop calling you “sir” and start calling you “loser.” But that always seems to happen as I get to know people.

- Misha Collins on working as a guest star on Supernatural

I can relate to that, Misha. *nods*
(Not the working on Supernatural part... the "loser" part. ;)

Rest of the interview here.
OK, this is going to brief... bullet point brief.

• It's late.

OMG! I'm watching TV1 on Foxtel and they just showed the trailer for My Bloody Valentine 3D!!!

*freaks out*

MBV3D is released here on Feb 12th.
I have to avoid spoilers for next 25 sleeps.
Oh, boy, this is gonna be tough.

*goes back to making Leverage icons & wondering where the hell the weekend went*
Over at TNT, the network has ordered six additional scripts from its promising new drama series "Leverage," which premiered to 5.6 million viewers in Decenber[sic].

I know this doesn't actually say there will definitely be another six episodes, nor does it say if the six episodes will be part of the current season or the start of a season two, but... OMG!!! There might be more Leverage!!!

*glee*

I'm definitely gonna need icons.

★ It's 11:30 o'clock at night and it's currently 31°c (88°f) Who lives where it's a 31°c at 11:30 pm? *sigh* It reached 39°c (102°f) today and the forecast for tomorrow is much the same. *melts*

★ I took Winnie to the vet this evening for a check up after her operation last week. The vet remembered her. Remembered her a little too well from the alleged chaos and injuries she caused when they tried to take her blood last week. He even went as far as to tell me she was the 'second worst cat he's ever treated'. o_O

My sweet little Winnie? Second worst cat he's ever treated? But she's only a little kitten... :(

Winnie's fourth trip to the vet... )

★ New episode of Kyle XY = FTW! It was so great visiting with Kyle and the Tragers again.

Flist, who else out there watches Kyle XY? I know [livejournal.com profile] whimsywinx and [livejournal.com profile] mel_b_angel do and I know Whimsy liked it. [livejournal.com profile] mel_b_angel did you watch it yet?

★ New episode of Leverage tonight. If Kyle was the my big TV discovery in 2008 then Leverage is my TV discovery of 2009. It just keeps getting better; it's already come a long way from the pilot. I love how the characters have developed and their relationships with each other. *loves*

★ I think I had something else to say but I can't remember what. It couldn't have been that interesting so I probably just saved y'all 30 seconds reading time which you can put to good use else where.

★ Happy Tuesday!

Today's the day, the day the third season of Kyle XY premieres. \O/

I started watching Kyle over (my) summer and it only took me a couple of weeks to catch up on the first two seasons. Having it back on tonight is extra exciting because it'll be the first time I'm watching it as it airs and then I'm going to have wait a full week until the next episode. It's going to be pure torture!

At least I have a new episodes of Leverage tomorrow and that other show we are all so fond of, Supernatural, on Thursday to fill in the time in between.

Nope, TV doesn't rule my life. I'm sure of it... I think.

PHOTO MEME
Not tagged but I wanted to do it anyway.
1. Open the 5th picture folder on your computer.
2. Open the 5th picture and post it on your blog.
3. Explain the picture.
4. Tag 8 people to do the same! If you'd like to do it, knock yourself out. :)

I snapped this photo late last year during a trip to Newcastle for a friend's birthday. On the Saturday afternoon before the party we went to Nelson Bay where we found this little dude. Actually he wasn't that little but I must have liked him because this is the 5th photo I took of him and there is another 18 after this one. ;)

I'm trying to clean up my Laptop hard drive. The disk is 160GB disk with about 4GB free. Understandably, things are not working as they should.

Funny enough, one of the main culprits is a directory called ...\katy\A My Tv\supernatural\ which weighed in at a hefty 38.4 GB (11,668 files, 391 folders).

I've moved it off onto an external hard drive but I don't trust them so I'm trying to copy it to DVD as a backup. Castiel forbid I'd hate to lose anything! For some reason my DVD writer doesn't like writing from the external disk so I have to copy the data I want to burn to DVD back to a temp directory on the laptop. This is the current status message I'm getting:

That's 30 years! o_O
“It’s an evolving thing. It’s so interesting to see how people have reacted to it … his fighting powers come from his hair … opponents are so dazzled by his pretty hair that they don’t see the punch coming…”

- Dean Devlin, creator of Leverage, on Christian Kane's hair.

We all knew Eliot Spencer (Christian Kane) must have a trick or two up his sleeve when it comes to his ability to take down the bad guys but who guessed it involved a bottle of Pantene and a hair straightener? *g*

Dean Devlin was interviewed over at Cliqueclack and, among other things, he discusses the casting and development of each character, including why Eliot Spencer has that hair. Incidentally, it was Christian's idea. :) It's also interesting to hear what each cast member brought to to each character during their audition for the role.

The interview is mostly non-spoilery, however, towards the bottom there are 7 bullet points under the heading "A few little gems:" which do contain very minor and vague spoilers. They will be easy enough to avoid as you read the rest of the article.

My brother sent me the link to an entry on Wil Wheaton's blog and from there I found the Dean Devlin interview. Both Dean and Wil talk about a what they both refer to as the "Great Wheaton Hockey Scandal of 1991." On a side note, I used to read Wil's Wheaton's blog, WWdN: In Exile all the time and will be forever grateful to him for introducing him to one of my favourite bands ever, The Shins.

Winnie is back home after her operation. I picked her up about three hours ago. The operation went fine and she is doing OK.

The low down on Winnie's recovery and some photos... )

There aren't too many photos of Winnie this week. I tried taking some this evening but from the 33 or so I took only about two were anything more than a blur and those were taking with a flash so she had the demon eye thing happening.

It's now midday and she's still darting around, running into things. I swear, I'm thinking of buying a little crash helmet for her to wear because she's going to knock herself out one of these days. Perhaps 'Build-A-Bear' have one that will fit her...

Anyway, here's a few photos because we can't have a Winchester Wednesday without photos of Winnie, can we? :)

Winnie 070109_02
I think her eyes are changing colour.

More photos of Winnie Winchester... )

Tomorrow is a big day for Winnie. She's off to the vet to be spayed. Poor little thing doesn't know what's about to happen to her. She hasn't been allowed to eat anything since 8pm tonight and she must be getting hungry because she keeps looking at where her bowl usually is and crying.

I'm not looking forward to taking her to the vet tomorrow morning. I'm sure she's going to be fine. It is, after all, a standard operation but I can't help but worry a little. She'll be under a general anesthetic and although I'll be very happy when I can go pick her up tomorrow afternoon I know she's going to be all dopey and probably pretty sore and sorry for herself. It makes me sad thinking about it. :(

or Seven Things I've Learned During the Past 72 hours.

Number 1: I am a sucky friend. :( I completely missed [livejournal.com profile] evenindeath's birthday. :( This is way way too late but Happy 'Belated' Birthday, Hannah. Hope you had a lovely day and that you are enjoying your holiday away from Uni. *hugs*

Number 2: I am a sucky friend. I've hardly commented on anyone's entries in the new year. I thought once Christmas/New Year was over, I'd have a ton of time up my sleeves to play on LJ. Alas, that was not to be. As of yesterday, I'm back at work and, funny enough, I've actually had to work. Even though I've been trying to read my flist, I'm not doing too well. (see Number 1) It's only the 7th day of the year and I already feel like I'm behind on everything. *dramatic sigh* I'm going to catch up! I will. Expect random & belated comments from me over the next couple of days.

Number 3: Birthday parties for three-year-olds are kind of exhausting. It was Campbell's birthday party on Sunday. Campbell is my friends, Caz and Trent, little boy. They live about 3 hours away and Mum and I drove up to spend the afternoon at the party. This is the same little boy who we made the 'Henry the Octopus' cake for last year. No cake was required this year but there were lots of three year olds running around and swimming in the pool and eating copious amounts of sugar! It was kind of awesome. :D

Number 4: Guitar Hero Rocks! After all the kids went home, and Campbell went to his stay with his Grandparents, I got to play Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. How much freakin' fun is that game!!! It was the first time I'd ever played any of the Guitar Hero games and I survived all six songs I tried without getting boo'd off-stage. For someone who has absolutely no musical talent what-so-ever it was like a dream come true. It was love at first play! ;)

Number 5: I can't live without Guitar Hero. (see Number 4) Work!bff and I went to see the movie, Australia last night after work and we had a few hours to kill before it started. As it turned out, it was just enough time for me to go to K-Mart to purchase 'Guitar Hero: World Tour' for a Wii and then go to JB HiFi to purchase the Wii! Over the past month I've had a couple of goes on Wii and thought it was pretty cool. Needing a console to play Guitar Hero on pushed me over the edge to purchase one. Not sure when I'm going to play it considering I've already said I feel like I'm behind on everything else. (see Number 2.)

Number 6: Australia was most enjoyable. Nicole Kidman was a bit over the top and somewhat annoying in the first half but made up for it in the second half. Hugh Jackman was pretty good and pretty pretty. Very pretty. Yeah, so, I'm a little shallow. ;)

Number 7: I'm kind of desperate to see previews for My Bloody Valentine 3D and Friday the 13th. I was very disappointed they weren't shown prior to Australia (as if they would be!) and it got me wondering which movie I could go see that would give me the best opportunity to see them. Seeing a movie just to see the previews... *facepalm*

Happy Tuesday because somewhere in the World it's still Tuesday. ")
There's only 28 minutes of 2008 left for me so I better get on with posting this, the final Winchester Wednesday post for 2008, if I actually want to make it before midnight. (Some how I got distracted watching The Full Monty...)

Winnie Under
Two months ago tomorrow, I met Winnie Winchester for the first time. I can't believe how much she's grown since then.

Where the Wild Things Are... )

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

★ G'day mates! Hope youse all had an ace Christmas!

★ Not real sure why I decided to go all Aussie on you there. Sorry about that. :D

★ I've just got back from a good friend's birthday party. She turned five today. I bought her the board game 'Mouse Trap' and I made her a little bracelet with photos of her and her mum, dad & brother on it. She was a little concerned Mouse Trap was a boys game. Now I'm concerned. because I never had Mouse Trap when I was a kid and I always wanted it. Is it a boys game?

Melbourne. Drought. Water Restrictions. Four-Minute Songs. American Pie. )

★ New Leverage tomorrow! \O/ It premieres here in Australia on January 14th on FOX 8 which is all kinds of exciting. Even this little chocolatey Koala is excited because he's got Christian Kane's initials etched on his tummy.

Yeah, so I could probably use a "You know you may watch too much Leverage when..." tag.
(The CK actually stands for 'Caramello Koala' BTW...)

★ I missed my "Pig 'n a Poke" post last week... Did anyone notice? ;D

Well, that's it. My eight days of happiness meme has come to an end. It's been fun. :)

( Dec. 21st, 2008 09:46 pm)
Carols by Candlelight with lots of kids running a-muck around a local park!

One of those kids is my neice, Adelaide
(aged 6). She's appointed herself the Town Candlelighter and is having a great time tearing around the place with her mates, ensuring the townsfolk's candles are burning brightly. :)

My other neice, Eloise (aged 2), is enjoying practicing her baton twirling with glow sticks. :)
Happiness is...
