Do you remember the 'Statue of David' from Mikey and Brandon's lounge room? The one which Chunk knocks off the table? Well, it's featured in one of the icons and the focus is very much on their mom's 'MOST FAVORITE PIECE!'. :) Yeah, okay, that probably didn't need a warning... :)

Hey You Guys... )

( Mar. 9th, 2008 11:44 pm)
It's Sunday night and thanks to Labour Day tomorrow, there is still one day left of the weekend! \O/

My weekend got off to a great start on Friday when, despite having to work, the postie arrived with a huge parcel for me before I left for work in the morning.

Of course, I had to open it right away and look what I found...

[livejournal.com profile] munibunny sent me Goonies Action Figures to congratulate me on my new job!
I love that she knows me so well that she knew this was a perfect present which I would love so much :D

They are seriously the coolest things ever! They have little accessories with them like the Treasure Map (Mikey!), Pizza (Chunk!), Hair Brush (Mouth!) and miscellaneous gadgets (Data!).

Hey, you guys! The Goonies are ready for their close ups... )

Thank you [livejournal.com profile] munibunny for being so sweet and thoughtful. You are such a wonderful friend and I am so grateful that our little show brought us together. ♥ ♥ ♥

On Saturday I met up with another wonderful friend I've made on LJ, [livejournal.com profile] bobbinrob , and also [livejournal.com profile] ragingquiet26 , [livejournal.com profile] rip_67 , [livejournal.com profile] chasingangel82 and [livejournal.com profile] rose_janice . Up until yesterday [livejournal.com profile] bobbinrob was the only one I had on my flist, although I'd seen the others on flists of my flist, and I was a bit nervous about meeting everyone.

[livejournal.com profile] ragingquiet26 had said I needn't worry and she was right. Everyone was so sweet and I had so much fun hanging out with them. We saw 'Jumper' and randomly mooched around the city, stopping in at a few stores including JB Hifi, where I got the 'Complete Degrassi High' box set, and Minotaur, where I picked up the second Supernatural novel. Oh, and there was ice cream!

One of the best parts of the day was being able to chat 'Supernatural' all day with people who are equally obsessed with the show. Nobody's eyes glazed over and no one looked at anyone funny when someone brought up something else about the show. (I don't know about anyone else, but that happens to me all the time when I try and discuss the show with rl people I know.)

Thank you guys for a truly terrific day. It was awesome meeting you all and I can't wait for the next Melbourne get together. :)

And it's not any better inside.

It's 12:45am on Friday morning and it's still 28°c.

Instead of struggling to sleep, I'm watching some dude in Maine make a bathtub out of wood on the Martha Stewart show and screencapping "The Goonies". Good Times.

Ooh, and lookit! I've updated my layout.

  1. Hands up if you are going to see CROWDED HOUSE in November?  *raises both hands*  I spent  full-on a week deliberating whether I want to see them live or if I really, really, really want to see them live. Thanks to their numerous TV appearances during the past week it turned out I really, really, really want to see them live. I got me a ticket for their second show in Melbourne. Whoo-hoo!

  2. Whilst looking for Crowdies tickets I noticed that The Shins are also touring Australia. Next month!

  3. Sam and Nick stayed for another couple of nights during the week. Thursday night they wanted to watch Cars which, don't get me wrong, is a totally cool movie but also a movie they can watch anytime. I wanted to share a bit of old time movie magic with them. I've tried getting them to watch The Goonies before but they really aren't that interested in it. I know! Who does not love that movie? Kids today, huh? This time I made them watch Labyrinth and they totally dug it, especially Nick. It made me all kinds of proud and happy. It's awesome that a movie made 21 years ago still looks as good and is still as entertaining as Labyrinth is today. And yep, it really was made 21 Years ago. And nope, I can't believe it either.

Why is it I only think to update this thing on Friday? It's not as if it's the only day anything happens. I've come to the conclusion that blogging really is a habit you need to develop. Any topic or event can be blogged it's just a matter of remembering to do it.

A couple of cool links courtesy of Andrew:

Win a dinner with Joss Whedon! - If only. This would be such an awesome experience. Of course, I wouldn't be able form any coherent sentences words within his presence so my end of the conversation would be extremely lacking. But three hours listening to this man just talk would be like nothing else. The auction starts on Monday and proceeds go to the charity Equality Now. I'm thinking Equality Now will get quite a nice pile of cashy money as a result of this.

Goonies of the Caribbean (Link to YouTube) - It's fantabulously freaky how well these two movies seem to fit together. Extremely clever editing.
