Today's post is brought to you at the all-new early time of 6:00PM.

Except to me, 6:00pm it late because I'm still stuck at work. I've been here since 7:50am and now I'm waiting on someone to assign something back to me before I can leave. Because I didn't want to waste my time and I wanted to use it productively, I've been reading my flist. You may even see the odd comment from me! \O/ *facepalm*

I'm pretty much on my own for the next two weeks while work!bff is taking holidays. There is a third person who 'works' with us but, yeah, ... let's just say I'm pretty much on my own. It's been a busy few days and I don't think it's going to let up any time soon.

Yesterday morning I did get find about 20 minutes to start decorating the Christmas Tree for my desk. It's a work in progress but here's a sneak peek..

No photos of Winnie to share today but perhaps I'll post tomorrow and start a tradition of 'Hey, Wednesday! Winchester!' Or, you know, not... :)

This is quite possible to fasted LJ entry I've ever done. Any spelling or grammatical errors are entirely mine.

Happy Tuesday!
Yeah, I've got not much of anything to say today but I couldn't let a Tuesday go by without posting.

So, umm, I have to be at work tomorrow morning by 8:00AM, which means leaving home at about 6:45AM, which means getting up at around 6:00AM. *sigh* That is way too early for me. At least Winnie will be please at not having to hang around amusing herself while she wait for someone to get up and play with her.

Speaking of Winnie, I have a photo to share. I bet you're shocked at that unforeseen turn of events... )

And now, I must go to bed so I can get up bright and early tomorrow morning. Happy, happy, joy, joy. I'm so not a morning person...

Good night, dear flist, and happy Tuesday. :)

I was listening to an interview with Misha Collins over at Slice of Scifi and I learnt something I don't think I knew. Actually, it's kind of weird because the more I think about it the more I think perhaps I did know but perhaps I've forgotten somewhere along the way...

Anyway. One of the interviewers mentioned that at the end of 'Red Sky at Morning', the second word Sam says during the ritual at the graveyard is 'castiel'. Of course, I had to check myself - and yep - he says 'castiel'. What's doing with that?

A short clip from 'Red Sky at Morning... )

I'm on my own today. The other two members of my team are working from home. The fourth person who sits in our area is also away.

No dramas there. I can work listening to The Hooters on my iPod. I can occasionally check LJ. I can go get noodles from Noodle Box for lunch. It's all good.

But.

On my side of the office there are approximately 40 seats all of which are taken because there are two people being forced to sit in a walkway! A quick count of those 40 seats tells me only about 16 people are actually in the office today. 16!!! That's not even half. *sigh*

What I want to know is, when did showing up to work become an optional extra?

Disclaimer: Yep, I may be a little bitter because besides 'not wanting to go into the office' I have no legitimate reason not to go into office. ;)

Random stuff today.

  1. Last night's episode of Supernatural on Aussie telly was 4x08: Wishful Thinking.
    Three things about 4x08:

a). I'm pretty sure waiting for a 7ft teddy bear to pull the trigger is never going to get old

    b). Teddy Bear Doctors!
    best alias ever copy

c). Does anyone else think that at least one person in the writer's room suggested Todd chase the bullies with a little help from Falkor?
    Falkor copy

  2. The other day I got this comment in response to the Jensen Ackles on Good News Week video I posted on YouTube earlier this year:

jellahd: Aww i love the video, he's married to stephanie ware, so this video is an fake!!! I've never heard jensen say anything about dating anyone. Everyone knows that youtube carry alot of fake videos, it's sad because alot of people can't separate the fake videos from the real videos.

A couple of people responded saying it's the real deal to which the user responded with:
jellahd: I've already did...you pothead. But it seems to me you haven't used your brain to sit here and try and spread false rumors on jensen like that. He's married people , he said it himself all over the interviews and here in canada too.

That's bizarre, right? I mean, Paul McDermott - the host of Good News Week - may worship at the Shrine of Jensen Ackles's Ass' but I don't think he's going to go through the effort of fabricating an entire episode of GNW.

The funniest thing is that no where during his appearance on the show does Jensen even mention dating anyone or a girlfriend. *scratches head*

Demons I get. People are crazy.

  3. This week's photo of Winchester is a little video. )

  4. Happy Tuesday!

[livejournal.com profile] weesta posted this on her journal the other week and for some reason - probably because work!bff and I were mucking about with these puzzles yesterday trying to match capital cities to states in the fastest time possible (my record: 1min 14sec) - I was thinking about it on the drive to work this morning.

So here's mine:

visited 25 states (50%)
Create your own visited map of The United States or try another Douwe Osinga project

I've been to the USA three times but my trip in 2006 helped with my stats big time. I flew to San Francisco and then caught the train from SFC - Seattle - Minneapolis/St. Paul - Boston - New York. That train trip covered a lot of states in between.

And just so my own country doesn't feel left out... )

★ I have new friends! Hi there [livejournal.com profile] sin_of_pride, [livejournal.com profile] emotikka, [livejournal.com profile] powerof3, and [livejournal.com profile] honeyone! I update my journal fairly randomly but I always update on a Tuesday. Always. Anyway, welcome!

★ My favourite singer in the whole wide world is Richard Marx. I've loved him since I first heard 'Don't mean nothing' on American Top 40 with Casey Kasem back in 1987. I've seen him live three times - he doesn't tour Australia too often - and I have all his albums. Or at least I thought I did. I was kind of mortified to find out he'd released two albums on 31st October that I hadn't even known about let alone purchased. How did that happen? Suffice to say, the situation has now been rectified and I am now the proud owner of two new Richard Marx albums! \O/ I haven't listened to them yet but it's a bit exciting :)

★ Winchester is settling in just fine. Can you tell?

Winnie1

More Winnie photos this way... )

★ I have a new layout - [livejournal.com profile] katysam.
It's frustrating me at the moment because I don't understand Internet browsers. The header looks fine in Firefox and Google Chrome but in Internet Explorer, the bottom is cut off. :( Also, layers and CSS in LiveJournal Land is very very confusing.

★ I've started watching Kyle XY from the beginning again. It's adorable how innocent Kyle is to begin with. He's so sweet I just want to wrap him up and take him home. I finished watching season two a couple of month ago and I wasn't looking forward to waiting until 2009 to see Season 3. Turns out I don't have to wait. I just checked IMDB and it says episode 3x01 premieres on 21st November 2008. That's in ten days time! *glee*

★ Happy Tuesday! :)

You are flicking through the latest catalogue from Safeway and you notice ACKLES are on special this week - 3 for $9.99. Save $6.98!

icken Ackles

Three ACKLES for ten bucks! Score!

Only 'icken ACKLES' are pictured but perhaps they have other ACKLES in store. The Jensen variety is my favourite but they are always the first to sell out. *sigh*

I really wanted to share this little video with you.

On Sunday night Lisa, Scott, their son Ryan, Trent, Carolyn, their son Campbell, Emma and I went to see Australia beat England 52-4 in the Rugby League World Cup game played in Melbourne. Ryan, who is 2.5 years old, loves watching rugby league but I think his favourite part of the game is the singing of the Australian National Anthem before kick off. Sorry, it's a little hard to hear him because of the crowd noise but I still think it's adorable.

The Australian National Anthem - Advance Australia Fair - performed by Ryan, aged 2.5

Advance Australia Fair Lyrics ... so you can follow or sing along ;)
Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free;
We've golden soil and wealth for toil,
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in Nature's gifts
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history's page, let every stage
Advance Australia fair!
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia fair!

Hello! Long time no write :)

I can't believe my birthday was a week ago. It doesn't seem that long ago but perhaps that's because it continued over this past weekend.

Friday night I went out to dinner with work!bff for my birthday and then we watched Supernatural 4x07. As much as I love the zany episodes, it was nice to get back to the serious issues at hand. It was also great to see Castiel back. I've missed that little guy!

★ ★ ★

Saturday afternoon my sister, Jenny, and her two kids, Samantha and Nicholas, dropped by with my birthday present which looked exactly like this:

They got me a little kitty!!!

Her name is Winchester, aka. Winnie, and she is adorable and cute and sooky and snuggly and soft and perfect!
Winchester meet flist. Flist meet Winchester. )

★ ★ ★

Saturday night I went to my friends Glenn and Tanya's place for dinner with them and Caz, Trent and Campbell.
Or at least that's what I was going there for... )

★ ★ ★

Today was a public holiday in Melbourne because of The Melbourne Cup. The Melbourne Cup is a horse race.
So, yep, I didn't have to go to work because of horse race. \O/
I love my city!!!

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Vote well, USA Flisters.
Please. :)

Thank you Flist!

I was spoilt with virtual gifts from [livejournal.com profile] munibunny, [livejournal.com profile] raputathebuta, [livejournal.com profile] whimsywinx, [livejournal.com profile] tariel22, and [livejournal.com profile] ckll, LJ birthday posts from [livejournal.com profile] vella_amor_dm, [livejournal.com profile] kros_21, [livejournal.com profile] rose_janice, [livejournal.com profile] bobbinrob, [livejournal.com profile] chasingangel82, [livejournal.com profile] ckll, [livejournal.com profile] goodbyetoyou, [livejournal.com profile] tariel22, [livejournal.com profile] cologne_chick, [livejournal.com profile] deluweil and [livejournal.com profile] deansam67, and extra paid account time from [livejournal.com profile] munibunny.

You guys are so ace.
Your kind words and birthday wishes made my day!
Thank you. *smishy hugs all round*

I had to work today which kind of sucked. In fact, I'm thinking of starting a petition to make it illegal to work on one's birthday. Anyone want to sign up?

It wasn't all bad though. I got some cool presents from work!bff.
Do you think he knows me a little?
A Very Supernatural Birthday! )

Other pressies from my family included an iTUNES voucher which I'm going to be used to get Pink's latest CD (I'm seeing her when she tours here next year), a JB HIFI voucher (might get a USB HDTV Tuner for my laptop...) and money.

For dinner we had Toad in the Hole which is probably the closest I'm ever going to get to having 'Pig 'n a Poke!' Hey, they both have sausages in them... *lol*

Happy Tuesday Folks!

Snagged from [livejournal.com profile] angieb5 and [livejournal.com profile] raputathebuta.

Now I feel like watching Casablanca.
Why don't I have that on DVD? *sigh*

I don't have to go to work tomorrow! *twirls*

My little niece is in her final year of High School and I'm having the day off to attend her graduation. Since she is 17 and lots taller than me I guess I shouldn't really call her 'little' anymore. She makes me feel both old and short! XD

In the afternoon I'll probably have a wander around Knox City (a shopping centre) and, if I can make an appointment, I'll get my eyebrows waxed. Exciting stuff, huh? XD

This weekend,a friend and I are flying to Newcastle for another friend's 50th Birthday party. We know him through work and I was pretty chuffed when I received the invite to his birthday shindig. We are flying out of Melbourne at lunchtime on Saturday, the party is Saturday night, and we fly out of Newcastle at 6pm Sunday. Therefore we have the whole day Sunday to do some touristy things. \O/ Mini!Holiday FTW!

All photo ops for J2 in Australia next year have now sold out. WOWZERS! I am so glad we booked when we did!

BTW, my handy dandy countdown tells me it's now only 178 days 11 hours 13 minutes and 11 seconds.

Yeah, I should probably stop with the countdown updates now... :)

EDIT: Link to a Jared interview from Spike TV Scream 2008 awards.
It's non-spoilery and you need to watch it to the end! ♥
Thanks [livejournal.com profile] bobbinrob for the heads up. :)

Happy Tuesday everyone! Have a great day.

Monday night is Supernatural night in Australia and tonight's episode on Channel Ten is 4x04 Metamorphosis. Watching the guy stuff his face with raw hamburger mince is never going to not be gross.

We had a Team!Shortbus outing on the weekend. [livejournal.com profile] evenindeath, [livejournal.com profile] chasingangel82, [livejournal.com profile] rose_janice, [livejournal.com profile] bobbinrob, and I went to see Step Brothers (It has scarred me for life, I'm telling you!), did some shopping, and went back to Robyn's place, to hang out and discuss all things Supernatural, Michael Rosenbaum, more things Supernatural, and [livejournal.com profile] rose_janice slept. ;)

And lookit! Robyn baked me a teddy bear cake for my birthday and gave me my first birthday present!
Come and see! )

Bec also booked our tickets to see Jensen and Jared at 'All Hell Breaks Loose' next April. (Thanks Bec!) Can you believe the $1400 platinum weekend passes sold out within a day or two? There were only 40 of them but still -- $1400!!! Wow!

We got the the regular day passes, a few autographs, and a few photo opportunities, including the 'Supernatural Sandwich'. Not that I'm excited about but... Only 179 more days! Not that I'm not counting either. :)

Believe it or not I did actually get some work done while I was on my own in the office yesterday but my mind insisted on wandering a little bit during the quieter times. More specifically, it insisted on wandering to Supernatural related stuffs--I'm shocked at this unforseen turn of events!--and I got thinking about 4x04 and Dean's use of a particular nickname. It seems to have caused a little controversy with some people thinking it's kind of adorable while others think it should never be spoken of again.

Well, here's my take on it. Sort of.
Warning: Contains spoilers for Superatural 4x04

Did you really just call me 'Cas'? )

In other news--Jared and Jensen are going to be in Sydney, Australia, for a HUB Convention in April 2009! OMG! *does happy dance*
Team!Shortbus - Can we skip the movie that weekend and go see the boys instead? Please? :D

1) Not only is Tuesday Pig 'n a Poke day--which incidentally is aka a sausage in a pancake (Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] angieb5!)--it's also CHUCK day! And thanks to our new super duper fast internet connection I was able to download episode 2x03, and 2x03 of Californication, in less than an hour and a half! \O/

2) Sometimes I feel bad about downloading TV shows but when the alternative is having to wait for a local station here to air them I think to hell with it. You know you can justify anything... )

3) I downloaded Google Chrome last week and I rather like it. It seems a wee bit faster than both IE and Firefox and a little less cluttered somehow. One downside I've found so far is that I can't see my LJ header pic with it. I can see the pic just fine in IE but it doesn't show up in Chrome or, as it turns out, Firefox. Guess I should look at fixing that sometime soon. It's about time I changed my theme anyhow...

4) I've been watching Supernatural and I've loved every episode so far--the odd numbered ones more so than the even-- but I haven't been posting about it. woe is me... )

5) My brother has just recommended I watch, True Blood. I know I've seen a few posts on my flist about the show but I can't remember where. Anyone watching it?

6) I'm on my own at work tomorrow so I'll either, a) Get a ton of work done or b) get very little done at all. ;)

7) Happy Tuesday!

1) I made it back to Melbourne - my favourite place in the whole wide world - last night! Why is it the trip home always seems so much longer than the trip up?

2) Thank you for all the messages of commiseration over the weekend after my beloved Storm's capitulation in the Grand Final. *hugs you all*

3) We began daylight savings on Sunday morning. This year it changed a month earlier than normal which is all kinds awesome because we get a whole extra month of it still being light at 7:00pm or later. Anyway, because there was a change to the date my phone didn't automatically update. *sigh*

Drama did ensue and an interesting discovery was made )

4) My Pushing Daisies season one DVDs and my Kyle XY soundtrack arrived from Amazon today. Kyle has me captivated. I love him and his little show. And what's not to love about Pushing Daisies? I'm looking forward to reminiscing with Ned, Chuck, Olive, Emerson, Vivian and Lily.

5) Happy Tuesday!
( Oct. 6th, 2008 01:16 pm)
Grand Final? What Grand Final?

The brand new day hasn't made the loss any easier to take. Apparently it's the largest losing margin in an NRL grand final. EVER. Well, never let it be said Stom don't do a good job of everything we do. We didn't just lose, we lost spectacularly.

We are a smidge over halfway home and I've kept myself amused by watching Kyle XY on my iPOD. My little travelling buddy, Bradley Bear, has hijacked it now to watch his favourite angel, Castiel, get up in Dean's face. Bradley Bear I such a fan!bear.

Yep, I may be a little bored... Are we there yet?
On the Road Again...

We sucked out loud.

Manly Sea Eagles 40
Melbourne Storm 0

Time to drown my sorrows...

Is it Thursday yet? *sigh*
Manly Sea Eagles 8
Melbourne Storm 0

I'm really hoping the 'other' Melbourne Storm team comes out to play after half time. You know, the Storm team that wins games...
