I finally went a saw P.S. I Love You last night and to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan on the big screen was incredibly wonderful.

The film hasn't been getting very good reviews and when that happens it usually means I'm going to love the film. This film was not exception. It's a chick flick and a deliberate tear-jerker but it makes no attempt to hide those facts. The supporting cast were great and I got no small amount of enjoyment from seeing James Marsters on the big screen either.  I miss his blonder hair and crinkly forehead, though. ;)

Even if the filmed had sucked, which it in no way did, there was one scene which would have been worth the admission price alone...

The MONEY SHOT... and other slight spoilers

Smiley JDM
HAH! You lot who have seen the movie thought I meant that other scene, right? To quote my friend's husband, the "That's Sam and Dean's daddy's naked butt!" scene? Well, no such luck. I don't have a screen cap of that. Yet.

There was one scene in the movie which hit kind of close to home. During the scene where Holly, Denise and Sharon are stuck out in the boat on the lake, and Sharon lets it's slip she's pregnant and Denise says she's getting married. That scene. Right there. I could totally relate and sympathise with Holly.

Of course, then she gets rescued by Jeffrey Dean Morgan and any sympathy had for her pretty much vanished. :)

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I love LOVE LOOOOVE this movie. I saw it for the second time this evening. Oh so in love! I went to see it firstoff because, oh Gerry Butler. Totally have a supercrush on him... it can't be helped. But the JDM wonderfulness was, well , wonderful! And HE SMILES!!! Didn't think Daddy Winchester had that smile... or that accent... or that butt... **ahem**

Buying it when it comes out. Wish it were tomorrow.

I've never seen Gerard Butler in anything prior to this movie so he was a very nice surprise. I loved the opening scene with him and Hilary Swank. His boxer shorts & suspender strip tease gone wrong was one of my favourite scenes :)

If I wanted to see him in something else, is there a couple of movies you can recommend?

JDM's smile at the end almost killed me. I couldn't help but smile back. That sounds all kinds of crazy but yeah :)

OMG yes!! Where do I begin: okay...
- Mrs. Brown (a small but adorable role)
- Dracula 2000 (horribly corny and totally Wes Craven but excellent... never seen a hotter Dracula)
- Phantom of the Opera, released a couple years ago
- 300 (Spartans!)
- Dear Frankie (adorable Scottish film where his real accent is good for the film :D)

I think I'm getting a little obsessed so I'll leave it at that. For my number one and two recommended though, I'd say Phantom and Dear Frankie... though in 300, he's essentially in a speedo for the whole movie. It's hot. ;P

**Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeam!**

Wow! Thank you so much for the recs!

Dear Frankie sounds like something I'd really like to see. I'll definitely look out for it.

I've heard a few good things about 300 too. Perhaps speedo-wearing Gerard Butler will finally get me to watch it ;)

His eyes just LIGHT up in the end scene. He looks so beautiful in that moment. I love when they're at the table eating dinner and he keeps looking at Holly all sheepish as if asking permission. So adorable.

And that ass! OMG. My friends and I haven't been able to stop talking about his ass since we saw the movie! lol. Because it's not your typical Hollywood ass, you know? It's not all tight beyond belief. It's just a great normal ass. A great one. Mmmmmmm. So round and pretty. *drools*

My complaint? They had him put his shirt on way too soon!! lmao.

It has come to a consensus that I am Denise. You know how she sizes men up the way she does? Apparently that's me. heh.

Gah! Someone else on my flist has finally seen it! Eeee!

You spent a lot of time looking at his ass, didn't you? *lol* Of course, I can't blame you. Where else would you be looking, right? I love that it's such a great conversational piece... among other things. ;) I thought he got dressed rather quickly too. It's not as if he didn't know what was going to happen next ;)

It's such a shame we didn't get to see Papa Winchester under happier circumstances so we could get to see that smile. There was a hint of it at the end of AHBL2 but how good would it have been to see the three Winchester boys just sitting around smiling widely and chugging beers?

Denise was a cool character. She knew exactly what she wanted and she wasn't going to settle for anything less :)

JDM! He's absolutely gorgeous in this film. I love the scene after he and Holly (you know) and she realizes he knew Jerry... and he just says, "would you like me to tell you some stories..."
OMG! was that just the most heart melting thing?

I'd forgotten all about that moment. I was probably still recovering from seeing Sam and Dean's Daddy's butt ;) JDM settling down to tell her a tale was so very sweet.

Now I'm wondering what other scenes I've forgotten about :) I can't wait to get the DVD.

Right... you want the DVD for the heartwarming scenes... not to freeze frame every second of JDM's butt. Sure, hun, whatever you say...
