1) Second day of my holidays today and I took my niece and nephew to see Kung Fu Panda. It was kind of cute. Not a must-rush-out-and-buy-on-DVD type movie but it made me laugh and the kids enjoyed it.

2) I got my haircut this evening and thought I'd take a picture to share because it's never going to look like this again. It's always so shiny when I leave the hairdressers and I have no idea how I'm going to go when I get around to drying it tomorrow morning.

While she cut my hair, my hairdresser and I were chatting away about life, movies, TV etc.

Hairdresser A: What's that other show you really like? You told me about it. The one with the two brothers?
Me: Supernatural.
Hairdresser A: Yeah, that's the one. I can't watch that. It's too scary.
Me: It's not THAT scary. Hey, I got to meet one of them.
Hairdresser A: What? Really? (to another hairdresser) Did you hear that? She met one of the boys from Supernatural.
Hairdresser B: Really? Which one? *is excited*
Me: Jared Padalecki. Sam.
Hairdresser B: *squeals* What's he like? Is he nice?
Me: *gushes about Jared Padalecki - probably more than necessary*
Hairdresser B: I heard Dean is gay.
Me: o_O
Me: The actor who plays Dean?
Hairdresser B: Yeah.
Me: *laughs*
Hairdresser A: Is he?
Me: *laughs some more* No. Well, umm, he hasn't 'come out'.

Poor Jensen Ackles. His sexuality is even the subject of gossip in a small suburban hair salon in Melbourne, Australia.

3) Is it just me or is it meme season? Anyway, I've been stockpiling the ones going around and here's one to get me started.

    Clockwise from top
  1. My compact digital camera with Crumpler camera case.
  2. Assorted Ipod and digital camera leads, and USB drives. You never know when you are going to need 6GB of portable storage.
  3. My shiny new iPod Classic with Crumpler iPod case.
  4. Assorted receipts (39.62 litres of petrol at $1.56 per litre, Cheezals, Pepsi Max and Smallville Season Two DVD), movie tickets (Indiana Jones, Get Smart and Kung Fu Panda and an expired train ticket.
  5. My glasses. They help me see things a lot clearer but for some reason, I hardly ever wear them.
  6. My sunglasses. I bought these from some dude in Times Square with my last US$13. I only had 19 cents left in my pocket but I had new sunglasses! \O/
  7. My Moleskin Weekly Notebook. Usually it's a lot more colourful than this, but I haven't had much time to get the coloured pencils out to pretty this week up.
  8. Assorted pens and markers.
  9. My mobile phone - an i-mate Ultimate 8502.
  10. My Crumpler wallet and Kikki-K coin purse.
  11. Assorted stuffs - Body Shop Lip Balm (Cool Mint), Nivea Creme & Lip Balm, Nurofen, hand santitiser (my mum, sister and niece are turning me into a germ-a-phobe) and Calgon Perfect Bliss body mist (one of many bottles carried back from the USA because you can't buy it in Australia *pout*)
  12. Melbourne Storm 2008 Membership (season ticket) with Social Club Token. (Not sure why that's in my purse as I don't usually carry it around with me)

4) Oooh, I GOT X-FILES TICKETS!!! \O/
Lisa and I are going to a 7pm screening on Wednesday the 23rd July. Mulder and Scully. Back together. On the big screen. *sigh* And it's only 13 sleeps.

5) I'm watching Smallville ep1x18. It has bees in it. Lots of bees. I wonder if Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum talk about these bees as much as Jensen Ackles talks about the bees from 'Bugs'...

6) And because I thought this was fairly accurate:

You Are Oscar the Grouch

Grumpy and grouchy, you aren't just pessimistic. You revel in your pessimism.

You are usually feeling: Unhappy. Unless it's rainy outside, and even then you know the foul weather won't last.

You are famous for: Being mean yet lovable. And you hate the lovable part.

How you life your life: As a slob. But it's not repelling as many people as you'd like!

I really didn't expect the comment about Jensen... hence, the laughing. I honestly thought those rumours were limited to LJ and the forums.
Thank you :)
Oscar FTW! He's always been one of the more interesting Sesame St characters. I really liked Mr. Snuffaluffagus also.
