I'm tired. I just want to sleep, yo, for like a week.

Last night I baked some jam cookies. Lots of jam cookies.
---
Unfortunately, I came to the not-so-startling realisation that cookies and I just don't get on and I may have said, "oh, fudge!" more than once. Madge Carrigan would be proud of me.
The dough kept sticking to the board, to the rolling pin, to my hands and to the cookie cutter even though a I used a ton of flour. Once I managed to roll the dough out in one piece it was either too thin or it was too thick. Having succeeded in making shapes (roughly resembling a biscuit) and transferring them to a baking tray (in one piece), trying to get them to brown evenly and not too much was the next ordeal. Some turned out light, some turned out dark, some burned (they went in the bin). Luckily the tops get dusted with icing sugar so nobody will be able to tell the difference once they are finished.

Do you think TV chefs like Jamie Oliver, are born with asbestos hands or do they acquire them through years of getting hot things out of the oven?

I watched Christmas episodes of my three favourite TV shows:
(In viewing order. Preferential order may vary slightly)

"Amends" - Buffy the Vampire Slayer
"The Ghosts who stole Christmas" - X-Files
"A Very Supernatural Christmas" - Supernatural

I love being able to add "A Very Supernatural Christmas" to my list of shows/movies I watch every Christmas.
