Today was 43°c (109.4 F).
Tomorrow is going to be 43°c (109.4 F).
Saturday is going to be 40°c (104 F).
This is Winnie Winchester's first real experience of hot weather and she's not all that happy about. I can't blame her. We don't have air conditioning in the house except in one bedroom and it's not mine. *pouts*
Winnie is five months old next Monday. She still has times when one moment she's wide awake, playing with her toys, and half hanging out her basket.
And the next moment she's fast asleep, still hanging out her basket.
Since her little escape act last week I have been taken her outside at least once a day.
There's so much for a little puddy cat to do and see on the outside.
Special Guest Pet of the Week!
Welcome to a new segment here at Winchester Wednesday!
Each week (or at least this week) I'll be featuring a special pet to star along side Winnie.
"Any cat can watch TV, but how many can change channels to watch what they want?"
Ginger is 6 years old and belongs to my 12 year old niece, Sam. I'm not sure but I think that makes Ginger and Winnie cousins, or not. Ginger enjoys sleeping in the sun, catching spiders, and barely tolerating Billy, the cat next door. Ginger says the time she got bitten by a huntsman spider as amongst the scariest of her life.

I like how Winnie likes her designer labels. Nothing but the best for our princess! I love her eyes in that first pic! And she looks very intent in that first outside shot. She's obviously captivated by all there is to see out there.
Yay for special guests, how fun! She's very pretty, and her command of the remote is quite impressive! :)

You should put ice cubes in her water dish and let her lay about in the bathroom, where the tile is cooler than the carpeting. And try her out with the fan. Aidan loves the fan in the summer. (And I totally feel your pain. It can get up to 120+°F here in the summer. Ugh.)
Speaking of Aidan, I think he would enjoy being your "guest pet of the week". I know I'd get a kick out of it, at the very least. ;)

Great minds think alike! I've actually been doing that. :)
She doesn't mind the fan. It's on but she's not interested in sitting by it. She's currently lying on the tiled floor.
It wouldn't be too bad but we have another three days of really really hot temps, and then it's going to drop to just really hot for two days, and then it's just going to be hot for the next two days. *sigh*
I honestly couldn't cope with 120+° although I always think once you get over about 94°F (I'm converting from °C but I think that's right) it doesn't really make much difference. It's just hot, ya know. ;)
If Aidan would love to be Guest Pet of the Week than I would love having him as guest pet of the week. \O/ When you get a chance, send me through a photo of him and I'll include him one week. :)

Aidan likes the fan, but not enough to sit in front of it unless he's sat on my lap or on the arm of the cough between me and the fan, because I think he enjoys making me suffer. :| He likes the tub sometimes, too.
I'd send you some of my cold weather if I could, but I can't figure out how to get it to stay in the FedEx box. And it's not really cold here, either. It's like 52°F right now, which really isn't cold. Well, I'm cold, but I'm always cold in the winter. *g*
I was born here, so I'm used to it. Don't get me wrong, it still sucks. But you're pretty much spot on about it hitting a certain temp and just being hot regardless of how hot it actually gets. I think that temp for me is about 105°F. I can handle the 90s just fine, but when it gets to be 100+? I want to crawl into my freezer and stay there until summer's over.

It's definitely an adventure each time a young cat is allowed to go outside! There's so much to see and discover.

It does occasionally get hot like this here but not as bad as it's going to be in the next week. Apparently it's the biggest heat wave we've had in a century. I always think stats like that make if feel so much worse than it is. ;)
There are also so many places Winnie can wander off too. I tried a lead on her a couple of times but it just got in the way when she wanted to climb in the bushes. lol

The heat was tough on Winnie. Thursday night we had a little cool change and it was a lot cooler outside. I let her out to cool her but being a kitten she just ran around and was even hotter. She was so hot she started panting, which freaked me out! We also lost power so I couldn't even put her in the one room which has air conditioning. :( Luckily, she did cool down eventually and has been fine since. :)

Yep, it's Dior. Winnie is one classy cat! *nods*
She loves being outside! It's me who's not OK with her being out there. ;) She tends to spend her time in one of two spots but sometimes ventures a bit further.

We had four days of over 43°C (109°F)! Yesterday was only 30°C (86°F) which was nice break. It has been so hot we've had power cuts because with everyone running air conditioners there wasn't enough electricity to keep up. It's been a nightmare. :(

She is still such a cutie! Is she harness free when she goes out now?
And aww, cute! My cat doesn't change the channel (he knows whats good for him :P) BUT he does sit raptly and watch Supernatural with me. Seriously, I am gonna get it on video one day, he looks STRAIGHT at the TV and sits there for the whole show! And when I watch re-runs in my room he does too! And now that Smallville is on the agenda, he sits for that one too (I think he has a thing for Tom Welling, and really who can blame him?)!
He gets up and does any 'errands' before Supernatural starts though!! I do think he knows that it is his guilty pleasure though (I think my cat is gay, LOL, he loves him some Winchester men), cause every time I get the camera, and he hears the lens he turns or gets up and won't let me get him on film!
He also tries to convince me he watches for the plot XP

The harness didn't last very long at all. She kept climbing trees and it just got in the way. I think I'm just going to have to trust her to stay close by.
How much do I love that your cat watches Supernatural with you! And how cute that he a has a crush on Tom Welling and the Winchesters but doesn't want anyone to know. lol!

Oh, well there ya go. Some cats don't take to them very well I suppose. My cat can tell when it's on and he is just more mellow, but Winnie is a kitten still so probably not as lazy as Bootsie :P
Well, yeah, my poor little gay kitty is very conscious of his preference for Tom and the boys! LOL, my Mom was even like 'He does NOT' and one week I pointed it out, and she was like 'OMG! He totally DOES!' :D he is very entertaining in his own way.
