There aren't too many photos of Winnie this week. I tried taking some this evening but from the 33 or so I took only about two were anything more than a blur and those were taking with a flash so she had the demon eye thing happening.
It's now midday and she's still darting around, running into things. I swear, I'm thinking of buying a little crash helmet for her to wear because she's going to knock herself out one of these days. Perhaps 'Build-A-Bear' have one that will fit her...
Anyway, here's a few photos because we can't have a Winchester Wednesday without photos of Winnie, can we? :)

I think her eyes are changing colour.

See how her eyes look green towards the middle and yellow around the outside?

OK, it's alittle lot blurry but this is so typically Winnie. A blur.

She's not allowed on the table. Really she's not. If only I could teach her that. *sigh*

Don't tell Winnie I posted this photo of her... ;)
Tomorrow is a big day for Winnie. She's off to the vet to be spayed. Poor little thing doesn't know what's about to happen to her. She hasn't been allowed to eat anything since 8pm tonight and she must be getting hungry because she keeps looking at where her bowl usually is and crying.
I'm not looking forward to taking her to the vet tomorrow morning. I'm sure she's going to be fine. It is, after all, a standard operation but I can't help but worry a little. She'll be under a general anesthetic and although I'll be very happy when I can go pick her up tomorrow afternoon I know she's going to be all dopey and probably pretty sore and sorry for herself. It makes me sad thinking about it. :(

Don't worry about tomorrow (today?) When my cat was spayed I wa almost in tears looking at her, but soon as the anasthetic wears off she'll be fine. (Of course trying to explain to the cat that she is knocked out and that is why her legs don't work... well I'll leave that to you!)
Good luck Winnie!

I sympathize with you about the vet thing. She'll be fine, though. Don't worry.

And because I am kind of a freak, I'm going to tell you what I tell everyone who is having their cat spayed: if you have stairs (even a step down from the kitchen to the living room), watch Winnie like a hawk! When I had my cat spayed, she was pretty dopey (I'm sure there were pretty pretty colours) and she couldn't really walk straight. They're fine after the night though, but it is worrying. :)

That one needs to be an icon & also submitted to icanhazcheesburger. It's just begging to be macro'd!
Poor Winnie! She'll be fine, but I hear ya on the worry.

its so hard when you are not allowed to feed them, it always makes you feel guilty even though its for the best
good luck at the doc hon *hugs*

Cats never like the vet, but it's necessary. Although like you say, you can't help feeling sorry for them when they're lying there all dopey, and they can't eat food before the surgery so they're probably starving as well. Awwwwww :(

I'm sure she was fine at the vet. Aidan kind of likes going, because he knows he'll get treats afterwards, as well as wet food. And he was fixed when I found him, thankfully, so I didn't have to go through that bit with him. She seems like a tough little girl, though, so I'm sure she was fine. :)

Don't worry (I know you will, though) everything is going to be alright.

Thank you for the reassurance. *hugs*
I hate seeing animals after they've had an anesthetic. :( One of our previous cats just used to walk around and around after she'd had one. They obviously have no idea what's going on and don't understand the best thing for them to do would be just lie down.
The vet this morning gave me the option of Winnie having IV fluids after the operation which are supposed to help her recover from the anesthetic quicker. I ticked that little box right away! :)

I dropped her off this morning and she was so good. She only meowed twice in the car on the way there. There was a big golden retriever in the waiting room when we got there and Winnie just started at him all wide-eyed like the Winnie we know and love. :)

It's horrible watching an animal after they've had an anesthetic. :( Luckily there are no stairs or steps for Winnie to fall down. She'll probably just walk into more things than she normally does. Hopefully it won't take her too long to come good again.

Winnie was so good when I dropped her off at the vet this morning and she hardly complained at all in the car on the way there. Hopefully by this time tomorrow the whole ordeal will be a distant memory for her... and for me.

Winnie was very good when I dropped her off this morning. She only meowed a couple of times on the way over and let the vet assistant pick her up with out much fuss. It made it a lot easier to leave her there. Now I just have to wait to hear I can pick her up again. :)

I was a wreck when I had to take Luke and Leia to the vet for that. Poor kitties were so drugged. I got them home and they went to sleep on the radiator.

I think she was starving by this morning. She always has access to food so she was probably really confused why it was suddenly taken away. :(

I'll have to try to find something to give her as a treat afterwards but I don't think she's going to be all that interested in food when she gets back. Hopefully she'll just settle for a lap to snooze on instead. :)

Thanks. :) It is hard not to worry at least a little bit even though, like you said, everything will be OK! I dropped her off this morning so now I'm just waiting for the phone call from the vet to tell me I go pick her up.

It is upsetting taking them to the vets. I think the worst part is knowing they don't understand what's going on. It's not like you can sit them down and explain to them what is going to happen to them. And yeah, seeing them under the influence of the anesthetic horrible. Your cats sound very wise by sleeping off the affects of the anesthetic. One of our previous cats, Tegan, would get home and walk around and around, almost in circles, instead of just lying down. It's upsetting seeing them like that. I hope Winnie does was Luke and Leia did.

Winnie not crying made it so much easier for me. I just know if she had meowed all the way I would have been so upset having to leave her there and probably would have ended up crying myself!

poor her! :(
when my doggie got whatever he got (i can't remember what they do for boys lol) he was so out of it and had to eat rice and bland hamburger so we could mix his meds in cuz he couldn't take it any other way.

I love that first one. Her face is so expressive! And she looks quite the elegant princess at the table.
The vet thing is hard, but you'll enjoy pampering her once she's home again. I hope she has a speedy and uneventful recovery!

Poor puppy. :(

I like the look on her face in the first one too and I'm sure she'd love if we actually set a place for her at the table when we have dinner so she can dine with us. ;)
She's home now and is in the process of sleeping off the anesthetic. She has a plastic collar around her neck to stop her from scratching so she's having a little trouble getting comfortable. :(
