1. I finally got my 'new' phone back from the repair shop today. It's been in to be fixed a total of three times and this time it looks like they may have actually repaired it. *crosses fingers... and toes*

  2. Storm Team has been announced for this weekend's clash against the Dragons. There are a few changes from the team that thrashed the Cowboys last weekend 58-12. Most notably our little halfback who just has what I think is the best name in footy - Cooper Cronk - is out injured for three weeks and James Aubusson, aka. 'Energizer Bunny', will be filling in for him. Brett White and Dallas Johnson are also back after having a little rest last week.

    MELBOURNE STORM - ROUND 15
Steve Turner, Matt Geyer, Matt King, Anthony Quinn, Israel Folau, Greg Inglis, James Aubusson, Ben Cross, Cameron Smith, Brett White, Clint Newton, Ryan Hoffman, Dallas Johnson.
Subs: Jeff Lima, Garrett Crossman, Jeremy Smith, Sam Tagataese, Adam Blair, Will Chambers, Sika Manu (three to be omitted).

  • The episode of Supernatural on Channel Ten last night was “What is and What Should Never Be”. This was THE episode I'd been looking forward to since I first read spoilers way back in February and I was beyond excited when I got to see it right after it aired in the States a month or two back. Since then I must have re-watched it a gazillion times and yet I still watched it last night, on TV, complete with ads.

In fact, making sure I watch it 'live' is the only way I can justify to myself that it's okay to download the episodes via the ‘net before they air here. I feel guilty if I don't tune in to watch it on TV locally even if I know I don't have a little black box recording my viewing habits and helping out those ratings. I still like to think I'm still doing my bit, ya know. It's also nice to know that there are a whole bunch of people out there enjoying exactly the same thing that I am at exactly the same time. Yeah, okay that's kind of geeky. Huh!

WIAWSNB is a peculiar episode in it's ability to make me laugh out loud one minute and produce tears the next. Some scenes even have me doing both at the same time. The lawn mower scene is one example. As funny as it is, it is also terribly sad that Dean has never had the opportunity to experience something as simple and mundane as mowing a lawn. The scenes with Sammy are also hilarious one moment and then kind of painful as it becomes clear that they share nothing of the closeness they have in their real-world relationship. It's even worse when you realise that this altered reality comes from within Dean. It's not just about how he sees the world around him but also how he sees himself. The reactions of those close to him are directly related to his own self perception. They just assume he's been drinking, Sammy appears to easily accept that Dean got himself into trouble with a bookie and even Dean's girlfriend jokes about having "low standards" as the reason she's with Dean. The dude has a seriously low opinion of himself and he honestly believes everyone else shares that with him. I love how this is revisited in the final two episodes of the season.

    More WIAWSNB Randomness:
New Number plate for the Metallicar (CNK 80Q3) * Dean 'drunk dialling' Sammy (even though he's not really) * Sammy studying law! * "MOM! * John played softball! * Creepy-ass Winchester family photos complete with Matching-Christmas-Sweaters portrait. Seriously, if that photo of four year old Sammy/Jared doesn't scream EVIL! I just don't know what does. Waking up to that would freak me out right there. LOL * Poor Dean. Everyone just assumes he has been drinking * Best. Sandwich. Evar. * THAT lawn mowing scene. Oh, Dean. Honey, I’m so glad you don’t drive the car like you drive a lawn mower * Sammy really likes wearing lemon * Dean's tears by his father's grave for all the things he and his family have missed out on. Yet he’s still not really complaining. He's just trying to understand why? I love how he stops just short of saying "It's not fair".* Dean: “Bitch” Sam: “What are you calling me bitch for” Dean: “You’re supposed to say ‘jerk’” Sam: “What?” Dean: “Never mind…” In this alternate reality Dean and Sammy share nothing. Not even affectionate name calling. They have nothing in common and only talk at Holidays. This mirrors the period in the 'real world' when Sammy was away at college. All that while Sammy wasn't hunting and during that time the boys just never spoke... they didn't even have the Holiday thing. * Dean: “Mom never died, we never went hunting and you and me just never, you know…” Sam: “Yeah. Well, I’m glad we do.” *

I’m sure glad they do to!
