And Happy Birthday,
raputathebuta! Hope you have a wonderful day!
It's Jared Eve and instead of finishing up packing and getting some much needed sleep (have I mentioned I have to be up at 3:30AM?) I'm getting distracted by Jensen Ackles on Smallville and stressing over how to pack my laptop, two cameras and a teddy bear in my carry on luggage and now I'm writing this. *sigh*
* Credit for the phrase, 'Jared Eve', goes to Work!bff. He demanded credit.
Can someone who watches Smallville tell me, is Jensen's character a bit dodgy? I mean, like does he have a secret agenda? Or is he a pure badass? In the episode I saw tonight he beat up Tom Welling because he'd (Jensen) drunk dodgy water from the water cooler at footy training. But then Michael Rosenbaum came in a saved Tom and they (Tom and Mike, not Jensen) had a heart to heart. It was kind of funny. And possibly eerily similar to a fanfic I once read.
On a different note, yesterday afternoon I went to the cafe downstairs from work to get myself a Pepsi Max. I was pleasantly surprised to hear them playing a song called "Compulsory Hero" by 1927 on the stereo.
I'm not sure if they had any hits in the USA but if they did you may know them by such hits as "If I could" and "That's When I Think of You". In 1989 I thought they were the best band ever and my friends and I even dabbled in writing a bit of fanfic involving them. Actually, back then I didn't realise it was called fanfic - yes kiddies, it was well before 'The Internet' - and they were all Mary Sue type stories. We had also never ever heard of slash. ;)
When I got home, I felt like listening to the whole song so I YouTube'd Compulsory Hero and check out whose face popped up in the search results;
Oh my goodness! A fanvid combining my favourite band from THEN and my favourite TV Show from NOW. Gotta love it when fandoms converge across the ages. :)
Hopefully I'll be able to post over the weekend from JaredNova to update y'all on what's going on in Sydney town.
