ODDMENTS and ENDMENTS

  1. Hands up if you are going to see CROWDED HOUSE in November?  *raises both hands*  I spent  full-on a week deliberating whether I want to see them live or if I really, really, really want to see them live. Thanks to their numerous TV appearances during the past week it turned out I really, really, really want to see them live. I got me a ticket for their second show in Melbourne. Whoo-hoo!

Last year (or was it 2005) we had INXS reform after their "ROCK STAR" search for a Michael Hutchence replacement ended with them recruiting J.D. Fortune.

This year we have Crowded House reforming with a new album and tour. Incidentally, they too had to replace a band member after the death of original drummer Paul Hester in 2005.

So, who's next? HUNTERS and COLLECTORS you up for it?  Oh God, yes. Please?

  • Whilst looking for Crowdies tickets I noticed that The Shins are also touring Australia. Next month!
Problem: They are playing at a seedy nightclub in the middle of Melbourne called The Metro. I haven't been there for years so perhaps it's changed... but I'm still not sure if I'm brave enough. I predict much more agonising over this decision in the weeks to come...

  • Sam and Nick stayed for another couple of nights during the week. Thursday night they wanted to watch Cars which, don't get me wrong, is a totally cool movie but also a movie they can watch anytime. I wanted to share a bit of old time movie magic with them. I've tried getting them to watch The Goonies before but they really aren't that interested in it. I know! Who does not love that movie? Kids today, huh? This time I made them watch Labyrinth and they totally dug it, especially Nick. It made me all kinds of proud and happy. It's awesome that a movie made 21 years ago still looks as good and is still as entertaining as Labyrinth is today. And yep, it really was made 21 Years ago. And nope, I can't believe it either.

  • I sat down this afternoon with the intention of working on my 2006 USA Holiday scrapbook. I got as far as typing up one line before I got distracted by a pretty Supernatural picture which was just crying out for a Photoshop makeover. Since I had Photoshop open anyway, I decided I really needed a new header image. I then faced the problem of my new header image not matching my journal layout so I had to do a little maintenance. (read: Complete overall) Needless to say, I haven't actually made it back to the my holiday scrapbook yet. Maybe tomorrow.
