ADVENTURE #1 - Now what?
You know something 'bad' has happened when you receive an email at work simply titled, "Your Cat" with a bunch of photos attached.
Oh, boy. What has she done now...

"Hey! A new tree to climb. A really big tall tree to climb with long branches that go everywhere!!! Ace!"

"This branch is really close to the house. I'm so good at jumping. I'm pretty sure I can make it..."
(You can see where this is going, right?)

"I'm on the roof. I'm on the roof. Yes!!!" *pumps little paw*

"Guess I should probably find a way down. Hmm, the way I came up? Nah, that's too easy. Down here looks better way to go."

"Yep, this is definitely better. I could just shimmy down that drain pipe..."

"Oh, god. Why did I have to develop a fear of heights now? Help? Somebody? HELP!!!"

"Thank you." *is embarrassed*
But not embarrassed enough not to do it all again on Monday. And, yes. She needed rescuing again. *sigh*
ADVENTURE #2 - Let's get ready to rumble!
This week on Battle of the Backyard:
Winnie 0
Bee 0
Last Friday night Winnie and I were playing 'chase the stick'. I was swishing the stick around. She was chasing the stick around. (It doesn't really work the other way around.) She was taking a breather when she noticed a bee close by. She pounced on it at the same time that I jumped up to shoo it (or her) away. She was too quick or I wasn't quick enough. Next thing I know she jumped away, meowing, and ran to the safety of her favourite bush. She then immediately stuck her paw in her mouth and started chewing. I can only assume she got stung by the bee and was trying to get the stinger out. Ouch!
I scooped her up and took her inside straight away. She meowed and struggled. I put her down. She ran to her biscuits and starting eating. Okey dokey, she can't be too bad off then. I tried checking her paw. She didn't like me touching it but she's usually grumpy after she's been forced to come inside. Using the magic of Google I discovered that a cat who has been stung by a bee should be okay but I should make sure her paw doesn't swell up too much and her face doesn't swell and she doesn't have any trouble breathing. Check. Check. Check.
Luckily, she was fine. No ill effects at all. I never found any evidence she was stung; No stinger in Winnie, no bee corpse outside.

cats are such spoilt things, because they are cute and know they can get away with it

She's huge! In that top photo - that's a regular doorway she's lying in front of. That's how big she is.
Yeah, she seems fine now. She must have got the stinger our herself straight away, which was lucky. I've never been stung by a bee in my life but I think she was very brave. :)

You've got that right! Winnie Winchester rules the house. ;)

LOL, this pic is way too cute. N'aw, Winnie!!! *squishes her* Silly cat.
I love that she's so adventurous though. And then suddenly develops a fear of heights. Ahaha. How inconvenient. o_O
OMG, I'm glad Winnie didn't get stung by the bee. BEES ARE EVIL! *flamethrowers them*

Even though there was no evidence I'm pretty sure the evil!bee did get her. She just managed to get the sting out by herself. She was very brave. *nods* I wonder if she'll be retelling her bee story to the neighbourhood cats just like Jensen loves retelling his 'Bugs' bee story? ;)

Aww, evil evil bee! *pokes it until it dies* Wow, I'm so impressed she could get the sting out herself! *claps* *gives her treats* I had to get my friend to get mine out for me, LOL.
AHAHA, she totally will. I can see it now. \o/

That first pic? Is she cooling her belly against the floor? One of mine does that. She plants her back feet & then walks with her front feet until she's flat against the floor all stretched out. She's a goof.
Props to Winnie's rescuer! Nicely done, sir!
Ew...bees. I'm glad she's okay. Yes, I can totally see her hanging out with the other cats, telling her bee story!
Winnie stories always make my day. *smishes her*

Thank goodness she's ok after "duking it out" with the bee
I went to the Humane Society yesterday to see about cold medicine for my cat (he told me to wait a few more days while making sure it doesn't get worse). At the Animal Intake section they have a whole wall devoted to missing animals. The one paper on the wall that really caught my eye was an orange & white tabby named WINCHESTER! Now I feel especially bad for the owner & so hope they find him/her soon.

I always worry when my cats go for wasps, but I am terrified of wasps myself, so I might be projecting.

but damn, she got stuck up there at the end.. who is the man that is helping her???
I'm glad she is okay and didn't get stung by the bee hun.
*hugs*

She scares the life out of me with some of her antics but she wouldn't be Winnie if she didn't do those things. ;)

Also - Google is god *nods* twice this week I have used it to clarify/sort things at work, impressing boss! (Not to mention the cajillion times I use it for myself lol)

Winnie's rescuer is my Dad. Winnie even has him wrapped around her little paw. :)
She's had a couple of run-ins with the cat next door and she doesn't seem at all bothered by it. I imagine if she could she'd walk up to the cat, hold our her paw and say, "Hi, the name's Winchester but you can call me Winnie. Wanna climb a tree with me?" ;)

Those little bees are scary things!
Awww, I don't like seeing pictures of missing animals. :( I hope that Winchester finds his/her way home.
And I hope your cat gets over her cold soon. :(

Wasps would be even more scary because they can sting more than once. They need to learn to stay away from them!

That's my Dad helping her down. :)
Even though I couldn't find any evidence, I'm pretty sure it got her. She jumped up really fast! She's all good now and probably doesn't remember a thing!
*hugs*

I'm very glad to hear that Winnie didn't suffer any ill effects from the bee. But now, at least she's got something to bond over with Ackles. ROFL

You're a wonderful storyteller, you know. These posts always make me smile. I'm glad neither cat nor bee was harmed by their play together!

Luckily so far, there has always been someone there to rescue her.
She's moved on from bees to spiders this week... but that's a story for Winchester Wednesday #15 ;)
