It's Sunday night and thanks to Labour Day tomorrow, there is still one day left of the weekend! \O/

My weekend got off to a great start on Friday when, despite having to work, the postie arrived with a huge parcel for me before I left for work in the morning.

Of course, I had to open it right away and look what I found...

munibunny sent me Goonies Action Figures to congratulate me on my new job!
I love that she knows me so well that she knew this was a perfect present which I would love so much :D

They are seriously the coolest things ever! They have little accessories with them like the Treasure Map (Mikey!), Pizza (Chunk!), Hair Brush (Mouth!) and miscellaneous gadgets (Data!).


Mikey Complete with Map, Copper Bones, Spanish Doubloom, Aleternate Hand with Inhaler and Bag of Marbles.	Data Complete with Bully Basher, Pinchers of Peril, Sticky Dart and Dynamite.

Mouth Complete with Lantern, Hair Brush, Pirate Sword and Pirate Treasure.	Chunk Complete with Statue of David, Milk Shake and Pizza.

On Saturday I met up with another wonderful friend I've made on LJ,

bobbinrob , and also

ragingquiet26 ,

rip_67 ,

chasingangel82 and

rose_janice . Up until yesterday

bobbinrob was the only one I had on my flist, although I'd seen the others on flists of my flist, and I was a bit nervous about meeting everyone.

ragingquiet26 had said I needn't worry and she was right. Everyone was so sweet and I had so much fun hanging out with them. We saw 'Jumper' and randomly mooched around the city, stopping in at a few stores including JB Hifi, where I got the 'Complete Degrassi High' box set, and Minotaur, where I picked up the second Supernatural novel. Oh, and there was ice cream!

One of the best parts of the day was being able to chat 'Supernatural' all day with people who are equally obsessed with the show. Nobody's eyes glazed over and no one looked at anyone funny when someone brought up something else about the show. (I don't know about anyone else, but that happens to me all the time when I try and discuss the show with rl people I know.)

Thank you guys for a truly terrific day. It was awesome meeting you all and I can't wait for the next Melbourne get together. :)

Sounds like an awesome day you had! And I completely get what you're saying...I can't wait for Asylum where I'll be meeting three other Belgian people who are going, and it will be just SO much fun to know I'm not the only one out in this little country anymore who watches the show and is as addicted to it as I am! :)

You will have such a great time meeting up with those people at Asylum. Discussing things in posts and comments is great but actually being face to face is something else entirely! I'm so excited for you being able to spend a whole weekend doing just that. :)

We really should. Perhaps we could make it a regular thing, every couple of months or so. We'll definitely need to do it once Robyn gets back so she can make us all extremely jealous of her close encounters of the Jared kind in Florida, or just after the season finale. I have a feeling we are all going to need to talk about it ;)

I know!!! I had now idea they even existed until they arrived in the mail on Friday morning. I was overjoyed opening the box and seeing them all in there.
Mikey is my favourite but they are all great.
I used to have such a thing for Sean Astin :) The first time I saw the first Lord of the Rings I spent the entire movie thinking, "It's Mikey! Awesome!"
The Statue of David is one of the best accessories. Just in case you wann know, it's a replica of the statue after it got knocked off the table ;)

BUT its their moms most favourite piece!!!

Oh - i saw your Goonies icon post you are working on - and the one of Francis Fratelli that says 'Mine is an evil laugh' had me cackling for 5 minutes straight!

Perhaps if there is a Goonies!Mom Action Figure her favourite piece comes with her ;)
I've sean Sean Astin in a few other things but Mikey is my favourite, followed very closely by Samwise.

I've got a couple of RL friends who watch it and will discuss it to a point but only the odd comment or question here or there. Some how I don't think they'd be up for spending a whole day chatting about our boys ;)
