The hole in the ground where the new stadium is to be built just appeared during the last couple of weeks, as you said. One way or another that hole is going to be filled with something.

I haven't followed the storm for that long (this is my second year). I grew up in Sydney and knew the game but never had an interest in it until long after I moved to Melbourne. I'm 6'5" and when I had a reserved seat in the eastern stand up the swan street end during the parra home final last September, I literally couldn't fit into it. It was just horrid. My payday just didn't line up with the day members could buy their own seat for the home final so I ended up pretty much diagonally opposite where I usually sit.

I've never been to a GF before and grew up hearing stories about what it meant to people. Even if the storm don't make it *touch wood* I'll go.

I probably should have heeded the advice from people who say legroom isn't an issue at Stadium Australia, but I made the point to the guy at the ticketek kiosk, and he found me a pair of front row seats near the southern tryline, just next to the tunnel. Front row and the rows behind a crosswalk aisle always have more leg room.

I wanted to go last year but simply didn't have the cash. This year I've emptied my savings account and just took the plunge. It's all planned out.

I step out the door at 11.15am and stroll up to the Moonee Ponds bus interchange. I'll get the 478 bus at 11.30am which arrives at Melbourne Airport as 12pm. My flight leaves at 1pm and it lands at 2.20pm. I'll get the 400 bus at 2.50pm arriving Rockdale at 3.07. The train leaves at 3.14pm to Sutherland, arriving at 3.36pm, which will connect with the 3.42pm bus to Bangor (else I'll have to get a $12 taxi into Bangor or a lift). I will then dump my overnight bag at mum's place, maybe make a quick stopover at the Bangor Tavern at 4.30pm-ish, maybe have one drink, and will then get the ORTA bus straight to the stadium from Bangor Shops. I hope to arrive at the ground at around 5.30-6.00pm for the 7pm start.

Since PT in Sydney on that day is free with a GF ticket except for the privately run buses (eg: Sutherland to Bangor is $2.90), and the Airport railway has something like a $10 gate fee (which can be avoided thanks to the 400 bus service), it's all covered except for a Zone 1/2 Metcard for the bus from Moonee Ponds, and $2.90 for the bus fare in Sydney.

Damn, that was a mouthful.
