1) Thank you to everyone for your thoughts on the bushfires here in Victoria. Sadly, they are still burning and the death toll is still rising. If there is anything positive to come out of the tragic events of the past few days it's the generosity and support pouring in from around Australia. The Red Cross has set up the Victorian Bushfire Appeal 2009 and as of 9:00 PM Tuesday night, they had received over $31 million in donations. This is from a country of of only 20 million people. It makes me proud to be an Aussie.

2) Only two sleeps until the Team!Shortbus outing to see 3D!Jensen! My Bloody Valentine 3D starts here on Thursday and I can't wait. \O/

3) A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away I used to work at a Child Care Centre. I have a university degree in Early Childhood Studies (Kindergarten / PreSchool Teacher) but I haven't worked with kids for nearly nine years.

For the past few months I've been trying to remember the name of one of the kids I had in my 3/4 year old group for a couple of years. I know you shouldn't have favourites but hanging out with a group of kids is like hanging out with any other group of people in that you get on better with some more than others. I'm pretty sure I didn't play favourites but I loved having this kid in the group and I was a little sad I couldn't remember his name especially since I had no trouble remembering his little brother's name.

A short story made long... )

4) I have tales of mischief to share with you tomorrow on 'Winchester Wednesday'. The cat is out of control! However, if you could see her this minute you wouldn't believe it. She's currently curled up next to me on my bed, fast asleep.

5) Happy Leverage Tuesday!

The rules are that for 8 days you have to post something that made you happy that day.

Day 3: Receiving a Christmas card and an adorable teddy bear from the extremely imaginative and creative [livejournal.com profile] angieb5. Thank you, Angie. I love him! ♥ ♥ ♥

He's A Very Supernatural Christmas Bear who loves Tea Parties! )

Also, a new episode of Leverage always makes me happy but a new episode of Leverage featuring a song by Kane, makes me even happier! \O/

It's Sunday night and thanks to Labour Day tomorrow, there is still one day left of the weekend! \O/

My weekend got off to a great start on Friday when, despite having to work, the postie arrived with a huge parcel for me before I left for work in the morning.

Of course, I had to open it right away and look what I found...

[livejournal.com profile] munibunny sent me Goonies Action Figures to congratulate me on my new job!
I love that she knows me so well that she knew this was a perfect present which I would love so much :D

They are seriously the coolest things ever! They have little accessories with them like the Treasure Map (Mikey!), Pizza (Chunk!), Hair Brush (Mouth!) and miscellaneous gadgets (Data!).

Hey, you guys! The Goonies are ready for their close ups... )

Thank you [livejournal.com profile] munibunny for being so sweet and thoughtful. You are such a wonderful friend and I am so grateful that our little show brought us together. ♥ ♥ ♥

On Saturday I met up with another wonderful friend I've made on LJ, [livejournal.com profile] bobbinrob , and also [livejournal.com profile] ragingquiet26 , [livejournal.com profile] rip_67 , [livejournal.com profile] chasingangel82 and [livejournal.com profile] rose_janice . Up until yesterday [livejournal.com profile] bobbinrob was the only one I had on my flist, although I'd seen the others on flists of my flist, and I was a bit nervous about meeting everyone.

[livejournal.com profile] ragingquiet26 had said I needn't worry and she was right. Everyone was so sweet and I had so much fun hanging out with them. We saw 'Jumper' and randomly mooched around the city, stopping in at a few stores including JB Hifi, where I got the 'Complete Degrassi High' box set, and Minotaur, where I picked up the second Supernatural novel. Oh, and there was ice cream!

One of the best parts of the day was being able to chat 'Supernatural' all day with people who are equally obsessed with the show. Nobody's eyes glazed over and no one looked at anyone funny when someone brought up something else about the show. (I don't know about anyone else, but that happens to me all the time when I try and discuss the show with rl people I know.)

Thank you guys for a truly terrific day. It was awesome meeting you all and I can't wait for the next Melbourne get together. :)

★ Happy Tuesday(s)

★ Has anyone else developed an irrational fear of Tuesdays?
Just me? Just wondering...

★ I forgot to put my phone in my bag this morning when I left for work. I feel naked without it.
[livejournal.com profile] bobbinrob, I hope you have some luck finding yours :(

★ This is long overdue but thank you to whoever left me a message over here at [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn's Valentine's Day Game. I wish I could thank you personally but since it's anonymous I'm going to have go with a Thank you! here, and hope you read this. ♥

★ I haven't written anything about 3x11 Mystery Spot yet. I mentioned last week the more I like an ep the harder it is to gather my thoughts into even the most basic of sentences and not leave anything out. Well, lets just say 3x11 has made it almost damn impossible.

Thank you [livejournal.com profile] munibunny for my Valetine's day gift. *hugs*
You are simply the best! :)

Thank you [livejournal.com profile] softcake_70 for my adorable Christmas e-card!

And a belated thank you to [livejournal.com profile] munibunny for my surfin' Santa Christmas card!

DALE! The calendar and postcard arrived today and I love them! It was so sweet of you to send them. Thank you so much. The cheesy postcard was perfect. Please tell Ezri she did a great job picking it out. *hugs*

  1. Emma and I went to see Hairspray last Thursday. I was a little concerned during the movie trailers because they were all for kiddy films. I knew Hairspray was aimed at a youth market, but I didn't expect it to be that youthful. *L*
I haven't enjoyed a movie as much as I did Hairspray in a long, long while. .. )
I bought the soundtrack last week so I can relive some of the magic. *sigh* It's just not the same though. Why isn't the DVD out yet? *whines*

  2. Speaking of DVDs, hurry up Mr. Postman! My SPN S2 DVDs still haven't arrived. Perhaps the cargo ship hit some stormy weather.

  3. Speaking of Storms (the segues sure are working for me tonight, don't you think?), Melbourne Storm are playing the Parramatta Eels on Sunday. It's a home-town final which means we get to play in Melbourne, but not at our usual stadium. We're playing at Docklands Stadium Colonial Stadium Telstra Dome. Seriously, the stadium has it's name changed more frequently than I change my socks. Anyway, the last time we played there was was six years ago... I like Colonial but it's no Olympic Park.

  4. Another album I downloaded last week was Darren Hayes' new album, This Delicate Thing We've Made. Darren Hayes used to be half of the group 'Savage Garden'.
I've been listening to this one song called 'Casey', a fair bit.

  5. "CASEY"
    Driving in your car
    With the windows down
    And the beat up stereo
    Struggle with this town
Cuz you love to hate it
And hate it to let it go

    And we're all alone
    And so tired of being
    Underrated
    So don't take me home
    Cuz I feel alive
When you come and save me
    Rest of the lyrics... )

  6. I've just finished watching All Hell Breaks Loose Part 1, and I can't believe I got all teary. I hate the final scene.

  7. I was going to try to make a voice post, this morning, on the way to work, but the voice post phone number didn't work. WTF? I just tried it again and, yep, it's still broken.
