Team!shortbus has landed in Sydney. \O/

We've checked into our hotel, scoped out the venue for tomorrow's J2+M event (you may have heard about it) and now we're on our way to Circular Quay to see a bridge and an opera house.

Pic: Robyn and Janice lon the bus to Circular Quay.
We're here!

First up. It's still Wednesday... some where in the World. Lots of places, in fact. Just not in Melbourne. But, ssssh! Don't tell anyone. ;P

Today I have a few new photos of Winnie plus some Winnie inspired creative stuff... )

Happy Wednesday!

Holy crap!

It's only four sleeps until we see Jensen, Jared and Misha.

That's pretty much all I have right now. *runs round in circles*

[livejournal.com profile] chasingangel82, [livejournal.com profile] rose_janice, [livejournal.com profile] evenindeath, [livejournal.com profile] ragingquiet26, [livejournal.com profile] bobbinrob and I fly from Melbourne to Sydney at lunch time on Friday. We'll meet up with [livejournal.com profile] briethehippo and her mum before heading to the hotel. The hotel we are staying at is just around the corner from the University of New South Wales, where the Con is being held.

Friday afternoon - Sightseeing around Sydney (Harbour Bridge, Opera House, Ferries...)

Saturday morning - All Hell Breaks Loose!

I've just checked the official website and this is what we can expect to happen this weekend:

Convention Schedule... )
→ One more day of work and I'm on holidays for 12 whole days. \O/

→ It's terribly sad to hear the reports and see the images of L'Aquila after the earthquake. I was extremely relieved to hear [livejournal.com profile] thandie and [livejournal.com profile] kros_21 are OK. Anyone else on my flist from Italy I hope you and your family are safe and stay safe.

→ At work today we had a meeting of sorts with the VP of our region. The meetings, called a 'Town Hall', is basically the big bosses standing up in front of hundreds of employees and telling them what's what. As can be expected, the economic crisis and it's affect on our company was the major topic. There was good news and there was bad news but the one thing to come out of it was we just had to keep working and wait and see what happens.

→ From where I was sitting during the town hall one of the big bosses, who was seated in the front row, looked just like Zachariah! (Castiel's boss) He freaked me out a little. Unfortunately, Castiel was not with him and no one at our company looks like Dean Winchester.

→ I'm thinking of having a bubble bath tonight and watching Castle while lying in said bubble bath. I can see the television from the bathtub. It's kind of cool. :)

→ My alternative plan it to just go to bed because I need to be up at 5:45AM tomorrow morning so I can get to work by 7:30AM and be ready for a Change Release which starts at 8:00AM.

→ I also have things to make for people whose user names may or may not be [livejournal.com profile] munibunny and [livejournal.com profile] bananabehr. I mentioned I'm on holidays as of tomorrow night, right? Check your inboxes after that. :P

→ No voice post today. No handwriting. Just arrow points.

→ Happy Tuesday!

The 'Getting to Know You Meme'.
Tagged (by default) by [livejournal.com profile] annella

The one which appears on my birth certificate. It's not short of anything. I haven't forgotten the 'h'. It's Katie with a 'Y'.

User/screen name and nickname given to me by my mum. It makes more sense if you know my middle name is Samantha.

Nickname which came about on a road trip I took with one of my rl!bffs back in 1999. At the time, Tristo (or more accurately, Tristan) was a player for our favourite sporting club, Melbourne Storm. A fictional conversation between Lisa and I, pretending to me Matty Geyer (another player) and Tristan Brady Smith, lead to me being called Tristo and Lisa being called Matty. For some reason, Tristo stuck. It could be because I often refer to myself as 'Tristo' in the third person. Or it might not. :) Even Lisa's three year old son, Ryan, and his three year old cousin, Campbell, call me Tristo. Well, Aunty Tristo. :P

I probably wasn't meant to be sharing this much detail, was I? Nevermind, I'm redefining the rules of this meme! Read more...  )

Next week I'll have new photos of Winnie Winchester. I promise!

This week, let's take a trip back in time and take a look at how the little puddy tat has grown.

Winchester Wednesday #1 - #17 )

Happy Wednesday!
Hi Guys,

Nothing major but I just did a bit of housekeeping on my Friends List. I removed some people who no longer have me friended. Or at least that was the aim. I'm pretty sure I didn't cut anyone else but all those ticky boxes next to friends and comms, well, who's to say I didn't get carried away and untick one which should have stayed ticked. /O\ Oh noes! Anyway, let me know if I've made a mistake? Thank you. :)

Also, a couple of people have friended me in the past who I haven't friended back. If that's you and you would like me to friend you back, just let me know. :)

Lots of ♥

Man, I sound like such a dork. LOL! And, yeah, it would have been a lot easier if I had just typed this post. That'll learn me for being lazy. *facepalm*

But, hey, if I'd typed it you wouldn't have heard me talking briefly about NCIS, Castle, Misha, Jensen, Jared, LA Con, or Winnie. Nor would you have heard Winnie Winchester's tiny little 'meow'!

Happy Tuesday!

Dear Leverage,

this is getting ridiculous. Please be stopping taking over my life.

'K? Thanks.

Love Katysam

Not too long ago I posted about creating stick figure Leverage characters while doodling in MS Paint.

Well, it turns out those little stick figures were destined for bigger and better things... )

Dear Supernatural

I still love you best of all. You will always be my favourite. I promise.

Love Katysam.

Seriously. It's like the not-so-random slogan generator KNOWS Castiel or something. *nods*
And now for something completely different.

Onward to the scrawl... )

In other news, I'm not feeling well today so I'm "working" from home. No. Really, I am. :)

Happy 'early' Tuesday. *hearts*

I'm a bit Spammy McSpammerson lately but...

Is it possible Castiel confused his clothes with someone else's clothes or did he just get tired of looking like a 'Holy Tax Accountant' and thought he'd try the 'Holy Dean Winchester' look instead?

Dude, what's with the outfit?

He's even got the layers happening!

I have no idea when this pic surfaced so apologies if I'm way behind the times. :)
I don't have any wacky Winnie stories to tell this week and I don't have many photos either. It's hard to take photos of her outside because she doesn't stay close anymore; she doesn't even stay in our garden anymore. As far as she's concerned, a fence is only there to jump over or to crawl under.

This way to Winnie... )

Happy Wednesday!

Let me start by saying earthquakes in Melbourne are very, very rare. I've lived here all my life and prior to 2009 I've only experienced one. So far this year we've had two and they were less than two weeks apart. That can't be good. *gulp*

We had an earth tremor on Friday 6th March, magnitude 4.7. It was only a little one but it was enough to shake the ground and rattle the windows.

We just had another earth tremor about 15 minutes ago. I'm the only one from my team at work today so when I felt the building shake I couldn't immediately turn around and say, "Hey, did you feel that?" I looked around at people in other areas but no one looked surprised or worried. I began to think I had imagined it. Then I got a instant message from a workmate who said they'd felt it at home. I immediately called Mum & Dad and they'd felt it too. Two in two weeks. That's not good. Not sure what the magnitude was of this one but Dad thought it was stronger.

Seriously, what else does Victoria have to put up with? Drought, bushfires, high winds, earthquakes all in the space of a month. If a volcano suddenly appears in the middle of downtown Melbourne tomorrow I'm going to be cranky.
GRRR ARGH! *pulls hair out*

Note to self: Get remote access sorted out so you can work from home tomorrow.
Seriously? It's already Tuesday again? Seriously?

[livejournal.com profile] weesta posted a link this morning to a story about the SciFi channel changing their name to 'SyFy'. Apparently SyFy is less geeky than 'SciFi'. Yeah, about that. It's still called the same thing, right? Are more people going to watch if it's spelled differently? Tell you what though, if it does increase the number of viewers perhaps The CW could try something similar. "The See Double You" or "The Sea Double Ewe" is bound to bring in more viewers.

I've already got a logo worked out for 'The Sea Double Ewe". It involves an ocean, a life preserver, and two sheep. It's pretty awesome and alone should attract flocks of viewers. Yeah, OK. I'm stopping now...

Speaking of The CW, does anyone know if the 'CW' stands for anything? Thanks to this blog entry on Whedonesque, for the past three years I've thought of it, in my head at least, as 'The Crack Whore' channel. I'm 99.99% sure that's incorrect.

A few of my favourite things food:
→ Milk Duds → Nutella → Violet Crumble
Hmm, I think there's might be a theme there.

A few of my least things food:
→ Legumes → Croutons → Vegemite
They are all evil.

I'm currently watching SpaceCamp. It's a 1986 movie starring Lea Thompson, Tate Donovan, Kelly Preston, Larry B. Scott, Kate Capshaw, Tom Skerrit and Joaquin Phoenix, or as he was known back then, Leaf Phoenix. It's ridiculous how much I still so enjoy so many of the movies I watched as a kid including, but not limited to, SpaceCamp, The Goonies, Labyrinth, The Neverending Story and The Boy Who Could Fly. Sometimes I think I should be embarrassed but I'm really not.

I loved Supernatural 4x15. So much so I was almost inspired to do a 'Things I Loved, Things I Liked, and Things I Didn't So Much Care For' post about it. I still might. Watch this space. But only if you want to.

Happy Tuesday!
